Self-service

Most questions are answered in the in-app Settings screens:

• Subscription & restore purchases: Open the app → Account. "Manage" opens your Apple ID subscription page; "Restore purchases" re-applies a sandbox or App Store purchase on a clean install.
• Cancel subscription: iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Karunattu → Cancel Subscription. We do not control the cancellation flow; it lives entirely in Apple's billing surface.
• Delete account: Open the app → Account → Delete account. Two-step gate (alert + type DELETE). Removes all practice data, journal entries, phrase snapshots, mastery records, and your account record. Apple subscription is independent — cancel that separately.
• Reset onboarding: Open the app → Account → Reset onboarding. Re-runs the first-launch wizard (find your Sa, pick instrument) without touching compositions or subscription.
• Disable analytics & notifications: iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics (system level, not app level — Karunattu does not ship a first-party analytics SDK).

Frequently asked questions

Why does Karunattu need microphone access?

For pitch detection (Tuner, Voice Coach, Doṣa Coach, Rāga ID), practice recording, and the Sangam duet feature. We never request mic access at app launch — only when you tap a feature that needs it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Why does Karunattu need local network access?

The Sangam duet feature uses MultipeerConnectivity over Bonjour (_karunattu-sang._tcp) to discover nearby practitioners. We exchange only pitch events and tāḷa beats — never audio. The prompt fires only when you first tap the Sangam tile.

Can I use Karunattu offline?

Yes. The raga catalog, tampura drone, tala engine, instrument synthesizers, and on-device practice tools work fully offline. You only need connectivity to sign in, sync practice data to the cloud, or use Sangam.

What's the difference between the three tiers?

• Free (Śiṣya): Tuner, 85-raga catalog, tampura drone, phrase composer + snapshots, Composers & Instruments dungeons, tamil/telugu/kannada/malayalam UI.

Does my subscription work on iOS and web?

Sign in with the same Apple ID or email on both surfaces and your practice data, journal, phrase snapshots, and saved Sa sync between web (app.karunattu.com) and iOS.
